A Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) is a partnership between various U.S. law enforcement agencies that is charged with taking action against terrorism, which includes the investigation of crimes such as wire fraud and identity theft. The local Joint Terrorism Task Force formed in 1997 and is one of 106 across the country. Although officers from the Portland Police Bureau are no longer part of the group, Oregon State Police, the Port of Portland and the Washington County Sheriff's Office participate with federal agencies for investigations.
